She married writer [[George Alec Effinger]] and moved to [[New Orleans]] in [[1976]]. She studied at the [[New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts]] with [[M. Dell Weller]] and [[Auseklis Ozols]]. She moved to [[Eugene, Oregon]], in 1987 and to [[Bayreuth]] [[Germany]] in 1997.
