'''Aaron Douglas''' ([[May 26]], [[1900]] - [[February 3]], [[1979]]), was a [[United States of America|U.S.]] painter and a major figure in the [[Harlem Renaissance]]. Douglas received his B.F.A. degree from the [[University of Nebraska-Lincoln]] in 1922. He based his style on traditional African styles and broke down figures into geometric objects.
